I got the fixture up today and we just love it :) !
I have it set to 20" above the tank. I was wondering about acclimating my corals. I have mostly softies. A bubble coral, a frogspawn, a zoanthid, a fiji leather, a monti and some others I dont even know, some kind of tree.
The tank is a 75 gal and is 48"WX18"DX20"H.
Any tips on how to do the acclimating? Like how often to lower the light and how to set the photo period?

Thanks,

Den

Acclimating can be done a few ways. Having the light high and slowly lowering it is one way. Using window screen, in layers over the tank is another. You just take a layer away at a time. Some people just reduce photoperiod, although I think this is the worst way. You can combine any of these ideas as well.

In any case the ATI PM is a sweet fixture, nice pick up!

Thanks for the reply. We are very pleased with the fixyure.

Would you know how high off the tank top the fixture should be kept once the acclimation period is over?

I run a 12 bulb sfiligoi fixture over my tank and run it 3"-4" above the tank. My fixture puts off almost no heat so I could go all the way down if I wanted.

The things to consider are spread, and splash. The higher it is from the water the wider the spread, and if it is too low, at least in my tank the shield gets salty to fast.
