tank breakdown question

Going to breakdown my 46gal reef, would like to keep the 50lbs of lr; a lot of them are covered with shrooms. How do I store the rock...do I need to remove the shrooms or will they just dwindle away - imagine the die off will smell, atleast for a while, looking for input on how to handle.

Unless you're going to keep the tank operational, the shrooms are going to die.

I'd toss the rock outside and they'll dry out in a few weeks. It'll be good base rock for later.
