ok....i have reaserched that its possible my ebay 6 stage r/o kit might be giving me a phosphate problem....so far my tds meter gives me a .02. and i have a AP phosphate test kit which reads (i guessing 0-.5)which i believe isint giving me a accuarate reading..
so im looking to pickup a new value series 4 stage RODI kit and aquatec permeate pump on the buckeye fieldsupply groupbuy...would the value series be good enough or anyone with experience on it?

There is a Buckeye Field supply Group buy going on until 3 pm today. I would call them and run your prob's with the unit by them and see what the solution would be. And if you need stuff you can get in on the buy, share shipping and possibly a discount.

I've been told that a tds meter will not pick up phosphates. I don't know if this is true or not but it is my understanding that phosphates will pass through an RO membrane without any problem. The DI is what removes the phosphates.

On another thread I posted that I change my sediment filters just about monthly and I change my DI filter almost as often. I was flamed and laughed at but my tank has zero algae in it. :)

I like the color changing DI resin because it gives me a good gauge on when it needs to be changed. You probably just need new filters, not a new system.

I like a 5 stage.

They are all the same really, the only difference is the filters that you use. Otherwise they are all just housings on a metal mount. Buckeye has some that come with a pressure gauge which is kind of cool IMO. I added one onto mine.
