i have a the tek t5 retro kit and for some reason ive been having a problem with one side of the fixture.. its a dual light 48" or something like that size...

one side is super bright blue and the other side is just glowing purple anyone no why this would happen its a brand new bulb so i know its not the bulb... any suggestions or thoughts to why its happening please help...

Tony, turn the bulb around, if the color scheme is the same it can be a couple of things.
bad bulb (check with a different bulb and see if you get the same color scheme). if it happens then it might be bad contacts,
check with a bulb that you know is working and put it in that contact
and last it could be the ballast
try to do the simplest thing at first, you don'twant to be changing ballasts if you don't have to.

since i have the same thing, i would first try switching 1 of the bulbs to other side ect. then chech the ground's and the contacts. i use electrical diode grease on mine, any automotive store will have it. keeps a good contact

thanks everyone for all the advice... it ended up being something so stupid... i swapped it out for another bulb and when i took that one out and tryed it on the other sockets the endcap came off of the bulb :eek:

so i swapped it out with an older bulb that was working fine and everything is perfect now...

tony it's good you caught that. I've heard of vho bulbs setting the endcaps on fire because of that. not t5's but better safe than sorry.
