diy MH-regular or tempered glass?

planning on doing a 70w mh pendant over a 5.5

i have evrything besides the reflector.....but im wondering if i can use regular glass or do i have to use tempered?i have 1/4" to 1/2" glass laying around....

Are you referring to a shield? Or a reflector?

If you're referring to a shield you want to use UV glass. Tempered isn't critical.

sorry i mean the shield......i thought tempered glass blocks UV?....so no go on regular glass....

are you using a single or double ended light?

single ended bulbs have a uv shield built in. DE bulbs don't. if you're doing se no worries at all.

and yes, you need to use UV glass, not regular glass.

yea its a 70w de bulb......so uv sheilded....thanks
