Hey everyone, I am going to try and make the trip over to NJ for reefapalooza and wanted to pick peoples brains on their strategy as I am going to try and stick to a budget.

So with the budget in mind I normally would go Saturday morning trying to target specific corals but this time I am debating going later on Sunday with the hopes of getting a better deal on something random.

Has anyone had success with that strategy, finding a fire coral at the end of the conference or is everything pretty well picked over by that time and you might get a deal but on something that I might already have?

Stressed corals is not a major issue that I’ve noticed. Maybe from 1 or 2 vendors at each show and you’ll notice it by cloudy water or corals not opened.
I think this happens with vendors that rush their stands or arent adequately prepared for the shows, as they setup a day or two in advance and give the corals a chance to relax.

Yeah, hitting it late Sunday can definitely score you some sweet deals since vendors don’t want to haul livestock back—but yeah, the super rare stuff is usually long gone. Still, if you're flexible and just looking for something cool rather than a specific piece, it can be totally worth it.
