I saw this last night and it was extended up like on a stalk. Now the stalk is not extended and it is just sitting on the rock. I only saw this for the first time last night. It is amazing that with the new MH lighting all these things are appearing.

Any help with an ID would be great
THANKS!!

I have a similar looking thing growing on my rock, but because it is on the backside of my rock, facing back of tank I cant get a picture. Funny, was talkng to Masterswimmer (Russ) about this the other day, but unfortunately without a picture he was unable to assume what it might be. If you get an answer, it would help meet out to to identify mine. The way I explained it to Russ is that Its like a featherduster but with thicker, transparent\whittish arms?

I guess it all depends on what you would consider dangerous.;) My gf had them in her tank. They took over her tank, and killed every coral she had with the exception of her anemone & elephant shroom. I'd get rid of it ASAP. I had one migrate on a coral, I injected it with good old household White Vinegar. Haven't seen anymore in over 6 months now.

Copperbands are very hard to keep, so I would not go out and buy one to get rid of one aptasia.
There isons and tons of info here and elsewhere on how to get rid of them, just do a search. In my tank my peppermint shrimp have eaten them, but others have not so you may have to try a few things.

I saw that peppermint shrimp might eat them. I might go an pick up a few. And might kill it anyway, could always use reef friendly things in the tank. :)
