I am connecting a Sequence/Reeflo Hammerhead pump (5,800G, 24? head) to the 1-1/2? bulkhead in my 180G sump (AGA glass tank), and I possibly have to replace Hammerhead to Reeflo Mantaray (5,200G, 55? head) if Hammerhead is not powerful enough for my system.
The connection is bulkhead (slip) > 1.5? pipe (less than 6?) > 1.5? ball valve (slip) to union > pump. I need the pump to be as close to the sump as possible.
Should I use rigid PVC pipe or flexible pipe? Some people recommended me to use flexible schedule 40 PVC pipe instead of rigid pipe to reduce the vibration of the pump, and make the connection and the glass sump last longer.
Any information is greatly appreciated.
