For those of you who saw the pics of my tank you can see that my livestock looks pretty good. But I am having some issues with my alk and my ph.
my ph cant get any higher than 8.0 and my alk varies last night it was 10.8 +/- I use Kent Superbuffer, when I do my alk goes high but my ph wont move. What am I doing wrong or would you do something different. My calcium is steadily rising last night was 390 all other parameters are good, my nitrates dropped from 5 to 2.5 after a water change. I dose daily esv calcium but never dosed the alk. Should I dose tha alk and see what happens instead of the supperbuffer?
Also I bought an Aquavim light fixture with a 400w MH and 2x24w T5HO, I am replaceing the blue bulbs with geissman bulbs because he ones that it came with stink, I was curious to know if there is differences in MH bulbs if so which bulbs would you recommend my tank is about 32" deep running 1 400w MH, I'm not sure if this is a good quality bulb or not. I just feel that the lighting could be better maybe its just the fixture (reflector?)itself not sure let me know what guys think about this fixture or even advice on the equipment.
