Use a Mag 3

Reason why I say that is because I used a Mag2 on an AP600 which is the same skimmer body as your APF600 with the exception of the collection cup and pump. For the first 6 months, the Mag2 does well and then the water level starts to decrease in the skimmer chamber.
I guess you can clean out the Mag2 every couple of months. Either way you should put a ballvalve on the Mag2/Mag3 since the deltecs cannot control input flow. You want the water level (with Aquabee off) just at the top where the black bayonett meets the acrylic. Then adjust skimmer output with the air valve.
