I have recently set up an AGA 26 bowfront tank. About 30lbs sand, 20-25lbs live rock. I would like to have a mixed reef setup with mostly soft/LPS/minimal sps. is 250W MH overkill? Should I go with 150W MH or will I be good with 130W PCS?

I like the dusk/dawn effect & if I go halides I won't have supplementation. What to do?

The tank is 21" deep (top to bottom).

Thanks!

I recommend 175w MH for that depth and choice of livestock. You'll need to add a separate source for actinic supplementation to get the dawn/dusk effect.

Now if only I could find a fixture with the MH & a PC bulb in it that could fit over my tank! I have about 8.5" front to back to work with.

I fixed the Coralife 130W PC Lunar fixture another member gave me. Looks much better now. I have also added 10 nice corals thanks to Allen & hope to get some more pieces tonight from Steve.
