Pump Help

I am using Euro reef 135 RS serie in sump only & I dont see is pulling enought , original pump is sedra 5000 ( 500g/h ) & I will like to change to sedra 9000 ( 900g/h ) OR Mag 7 ( 700g/h ) pls help to chose one.

Out of the 2, I would go with the sedra 9000. The Mags are not needle wheels like the Sedra.

I wouldn't go with a large pump as you're only going to get a lot of water in the cup. You need to adjust the skimmer using the gate value and the air value. Also how deep is the skimmer in the sump?

Also how large is the tank and how heavily stock is it. If the skimmer is too large you may go through period where it's not pulling out a lot.

Did you clean it first, also euro reef need alot of water in sump to work good,you need a auto top off for best results.Try this first.

per euroreef cause i have the same skimmer the sedra 5000 is as large a pump as you should use, and u cant use a mag on it, it isnt needle wheel. and if it isnt pulling enough you need to adjust the riser tube, do you have the gate valve ? if not get it, and have you cleaned the pump on it ? could be cruded up on the needle wheel. i am using a sedra 3500 on mie and get tons of mud
