asm g4x gate valve mod kit

recently bought an asm g4x skimeer. what exactly is a gate valve mod kit and does it make the skimmer more efficient. also how does one install it.

gate valve controls the bubble level in your skimmer ...by this you can bring bubbles to where you need in the skimmer neck ...check the recirculating mod as well

hey greg,

recirculating mod requires to drill a hole in the skimmer, right? i feel uncomfortable doing this as i am scared to ruin the skimmer.

Other than possibly reducing splashing some, is there any reason to use the gate valve mod on the models that have the sliding outlet pipe that can be adjusted up or down? I can't think of any.

well
gate is the way to reduce the flow through the outlet..that makes the water get higher in the skimmer to get enough PUSHING power to rush through the gate .. so you have a higher water column with foam closer to the edge of the cup...you skim wetter in this case ...
dan bring the skimmer over and we try it together...lol....
btw dan messing with the skimmers is a disorder( head condition ) many of us have it
