Cover or not to cover ?

Hi,
I?m setting up a small reef aquarium (28G). My old 300G tank had HQI and was no covered. But for this one, where I?m going to use fluorescents a cover is required to support the light and, at the same time, I?m not quite sure if there will be an impact on the DO even though I?m using several pumps at the surface level. what do you think??

Well if you use a cover it will automatically reduce the amount of lighting penetrating your tank, it will keep water vapor and heat inside your tank but it might benefit your fish if you have any that like to carpet surf.
