Depends what corals you keep. I have a 3 and a 2 in my 55g tank. I have a mix of sps lps and softies.

I have a 72 gallon bow front. I use two Koralia 3's. They work great! I wanted to upgrade to the Vortechs, but I see no need to spend $980.00 right now. I hope this helps.

I just bought 2 2s for my 46 and I would say my flow is really good now. I would go with 2 or 3, maybe even 4.
