Came home tonight and notice my Blue Rhodactis inchoata shroom looking like this, mouth has a hole almost clear to the gravel. Saw this behavior w/ a green hairy shroom also. So.... is it splitting? Has anyone seen this behavior with a similiar shroom?

got 1 biggie and 1 very small this morning, didn't split evenly like i thought it would!! Its not done yet, the bigger part is still looking very funky. Looks like 3 or 4 way split. More for the frag swap. Too bad my lights make it look purple instead of true blue under MH lights.

Talked to Dennis at Platinum Reefs (where i got this mushroom from)
Hes not sure if the this mushroom is dying or splitting. For now I'll keep it int the tank until it shows sign of a complete melt down.
BTW - Dennis said he'll cover me for the shroon.

Inline6, like I told you before, mushroom coloration is dependent on the lights they are under. If you want your shrooms to look blue like Dennis' picture, you should replicate his lighting arrangement.

p.s. Watch the ammonia in your nano if you plan on letting the mushroom melt away in your tank.

LOL...that's what I said. You've wanted BLUE mushrooms for some time now. If you want BLUE mushrooms, you need blue mushroom lights and not mushrooms sold as BLUE.
