I saw an interesting video on reefvideos.com where a guy used part of his sump as a cryptic zone for polishing the water. He also had one area for aptasias. I have a chamber in my sump that's used for the skimmer and phosban reactor returns so it gets very slow flow and only has some LR in it. The chaeto and sand are in the main chamber. The chamber in question also has a lot of small feather dusters and aptasia growing in it while my overflow has become a bryopsis and other algae farm. I'd like to complete the mix and get some approrpiate cryptic zone critters. Anyone know what and where I can get them?

What was the aiptasia section for?Seems kind of dangerous if say a piece broke off and went up with the return.

it was for more nutrient export since they can be removed when they grow too much. I have peppermints in my display so they control the aptasias and one or two dont bother me.

I have plenty of xenia and anthelia in the display. I didnt really seed the aptasia on purpose. I must have gotten some in with a frag and then some grew in the tank. Its been under control in the DT - maybe two or three that I see - but then I noticed that there were many growing in the chamber of my sump that has minimal flow, along with lots of feather dusters.
