Rather than using a UV sterilizer I would suggest an Ozone set up with a ORP controller. No subsitute for water quality, no guessing keep redox potential in the 350-400Mv range and let nature do the rest.
when the contoller shuts off the Ozone the reactor now becomes a O2 reactor keeping O2 levels high.

that and a good skimmer and your on your way
