algae problem....

I am going through an algae problem and i noticed that my cap has algae growing on it..by the way, this cap was bleaching and i also notice color returning.....

should i move the powerhead from pointing at the cap?

Well, there's a ton of questions before any suggestions can be given.
What are your water parameters regarding nitrate & phosphate?
How often do you do water changes and @ what percentage?
How long has your tank been set up?
Do you have a DSB or bare bottom?
What is your fish bio-load & size of tank?
How often do you feed them & what kind of foods?
What type of filtration are you using: Berlin, Jaubert, refugium, wet/dry, cannister?
Skimmer in use?
Phosphate media in use?
Calcium reactor in use?
