My tank is right next to the our central heating system, so my tank ranges from 79 lowest to 81 at its peak during the day.

Inky, check out ebay, they have good deals, or check out EVC brand ballasts. I have 'em and very satisfied.

i found this post on page 19...

You need a number of T5's to get the combination of lighting to get the color you want AND we dont friggin know how powerful the things are. I think me and Odi-Dad were the first to throw a PAR meter under the things and I was the first, and as far as I know, the only one to measure PAR on T5 vs. halides on the same tank. At this point I assume overdriven T5s are equal to good 250 watt halides.

INK Heres a lil tip that I have learned from a COUPLE of guys in this trade that EVERYONE knows of (guys w/ boks out ) I know them personally they have done tests on PC's they give absouletly NO PAR at ALL Nuttin gives out OAR as MH's nuttin at ALL then is VHO's rgwm MH NTN

I'm asumming the 72 is 48" wide you'd need 2 175W 10K lights.

48" fixture MH ligt is very expensive. I think you need to go with hanging pendant or retrofit.

Here's one nice fixture light but it's like $500+

I can make you a wood box to mount retro fit kit in and save you some $$$
I'm not wild about those clip on fixtures. with the retro fit you can add VHO when budget permits

I believe inline6 got odyssea MH light for his nano and he replaced his ballast. He said it's pretty good light.
