Don't buy a kent pro scraper! I just ordered the 24" long one for $15 in hopes of cleaning my back glass. It is totally useless against coraline algae. That cheap plastic blade can hardly scrape diatoms off the glass.......A BIG POS

On the brighter side, that wonderful little fragging plier that they sell on Premium Aquatics works great. You can precisely frag SPS of ANY size and it will even cut through rock for those encrusted colonies. Fragging just got a whole lot easier for me :D

Share your little tidbits of product info so we can learn from each other.....

Rich, The plastic blade is for acrylic tanks. You need the metal blade.

BTW i have the same one for my acrylic tank, It does take some effort but it will get the coraline off. Also the only thing i foudn that will and not scratch a plastic tank. Just dont let it build up on you gotta get it when its just small little patches

i use it with the blade and it works fine (perhaps the plastic is just not strong enough). The problem is that the blades are thin and bend easily so you eventually get to a point where only the corners are scrapping and the middle does nothing, so you have to replace the blades.

I've wasted a lot of money on scrapers. The best for glass is the disposable single edge razor blades.

The plastic one you have, I use for my acrylic tank. Much more effort, but it works.

I was thinking of super gluing a razor to the plastic blade. I use the small square razors but I can't fit my hand in certain parts of the tank.....that's why I bought the pro-craper
