FISHING, I'M IN!!!!

My CBB litterally hided in the rock for the first 3 days and then came out and took out all the aptasia and finally started to eat frozen mysis in like a week time. Try zooplankton, they might work. Good luck :)

Oh, the less fish in the tank, the higher the possibility it'll survive. It's a slow fish and most of my fish pick on the CBB, other than my blue hippo tank. My sebae clow just tackles him all the time, and sometimes my damsel.

I think you gotta be patient. My Marine Betta wouldn't touch frozen foods either and I had to keep it from starving by getting live brine shrimp a few times. Then she showed some interest in silversides. And now she's actually eating them! :icon16: So...try and try again. Hopefully the Butterfly will come around.

I was at a LFS today and the guy there - quite knowledgable - had two Butterflies in the tanks. (I wish I could have them... But I'm afraid my Yellow Tang would bully them and they might pick at my corals...) Anyway, he got them to eat marine cuisine. He said he first waited several days without feeding them - a light starving. Then he defrosted marine cuisine and squeezed the juice out of it and poured the juice into the tank...to whet their appetite. And then he started offering the actual food...and it worked. You might try that.

i would try using live brine soaked in garlic extreme and some vita chem. once eating try to introduce other foods to your cbb. brine shrimps alone won't sustain your cbb.

i dont buy fish without seeing them anymore. i like to see them eat at the store before purchasing. also by looking at them 1st gives you a chance to see if the fish are sick or stressed. just my .02

btw good luck many cbb's won't eat prepared foods... some will only eat little feather dusters and anemones. i've owned 2 cbbs without any luck. the most recent 1 i purchased from ft is eating all types of frozen and dry foods.

I just bought one today from FT & I was lucky enough to be there first thing in the morning while they feed the fish. I stayed & watched all the CBB in this one tank & most were not interested in the food given. That is except for this one fella, which kept on picking away on the frozen mysis.

Needless to say I made sure they netted this one & not the others.

All my other fish are very competitive & charge for the food. It will be tough for the new CBB, so I will have to overfeed the tank for a few weeks & see what happens. I am not too optimistic on the survival of CBB's in general & now almost regret having purchased it.
