Big score at Yonker's Petco

Boy, was I surprised.

I stopped by Petco today to get some mega marine angel (which they didn't have)

As always, I took a peek at their SW tanks, and was very pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, they had about 20 1-2" hippo tangs priced at $59.99, who are doomed.

HOwever, they had a real nice 3" clown tang($19.99) and a real cute blue dot puffer ($5.49) plus a couple nice big hermits ($1.49) all happily in my tank.

I'll post pictures when I can get a good shot.

FWIW, they also had a couple of really cute pixie hawks (are they reef safe) for $28. Nice looking fish, but tiny (<1")

Those tanks over there are BAD!

They get really cool fish....but within a week they're all sick.
A while back, I did pick up a baby Orange shoulder for $15 that came in that day.

They also take orders for 6-lines....$10.
Just pick up fish before it goes in their tanks.

1) A little. I don't QT. It's always a close call. It's a little riskier, but I don't like putting my fish through the unnecessary stress of an extra catch, move and a number of weeks in substandard conditions. Today, the fish looked great, all their tankmates looked good, and I run a big UV to avoid disease spread. It's worked so far. Wish me luck.
2) The sweetlips disappeared over that vacation. Never did reappear. I guess ultimately it was too slow moving/bottom dwelling. I assume sharky got him. Sorry. The file is doing great by the way. Chased the puffer around the whole tank for the first couple of minutes. go figure

No, I don't think they are.

BTW, they are both out and about and eating like pigs. Keeping fingers crossed.
