So, now that i have my lights. I need to get some powerheads. I keep hearing maxijet but the 1200's only rate about 250gph. Isn't that kinda weak? I saw aquaclear poweheads that do about 400. What should i be looking for to get good quality jets?

IMHO, since its a 20G and im not sure if u have corals or FO, u really just need to move the water around a bit, not blow things of the rocks, nice soft currents will do. I have a 1200 in my 90G and it pushes the water dam good.If u think u may upgrade anytime soon to a bigger tank the seios r nice ....thrs so much out thr depending on how much u wanna spend and whr u think u might be going in this hobby.

well, i mean for now, i just need something that'll suffice for my 20. Maybe down the road in a 2-3 years i'll move up to a 55gallon and maybe when i buy my own house i'll move up to a 120 gallon but you know that's later later. (I plan on reefin the rest of my life ) How many 1200's do you have in your tank by the way. (i'm growing a reef tank with probably 2-3 fish and right now all i have is LR)

I would put my money on the maxijet 1200. Everyone uses it and haven't heard of anybody having bad experience with it.

If you do the mod the the maxijet, you get a little more flow and the flow is more spread out.
