I work in Warren NJ. And yesterday I was driving thru route 22 and I saw PETCO. So I went there just now. Wow, this is my first time I went to Petco and it's pretty sad sight. They had tons of fresh water tanks and 6 or 8 salt water tanks in there. I think more than half of their salt water fishes were dying or dead. They got good price on those fishes but they really need to hire someone who knows how to take care salt water tanks. I felt so sorry for those fishes ended up on PETCO tanks. I'll never go back to that store again.

There is one on RT9 in Poughkipsie NY that is amazing. They just remodeled the store and they actuall have people who know what they are doing taking care of the fish.

:(

the tanks in the union square store as continually depressing.

the fish are always sick looking and they have some mixed together that should not be.

they also had a huge dog faced puffer in one of those little shallow tanks,
too frigin sad. the fish have no where to move.

does anyone think saying anything to the manager would make a difference?

Think of it this way. It's up to us & only us to save the fish from Petco. If we don't do it, who will?

On the other hand, they will keep on stocking & killing our precious fish.

Its expected of these large pet shops to do this. The petland in downtown by Pace has 4 saltwater tanks and they have no idea what they are doing. They think the saltwater fish are the same as the freshwater. They have a 5inch blue hippo tang in a 29 reef for about 2 months now. They put her in there when they saw she was dyin in the holding tanks. Its better now, but a 29. . .idiots, lol.
