Does anyone use chemipure? Thoughts? What about their statement- "NO WATER CHANGE NECESSARY - for at least 5 years (length of test only) PERHAPS NEVER!"

How great would that be :D

I also don't know about not changing the bag except every 4 to six months- I know my bag of carbon is a huge nitrate trap after a week or so!

I had always thought chemipure was just carbon- anyone know what it is?

I thought their writeup was a bit overboard :)
I just bought Kent Reef carbon the other week- works great and I don't even need to rinse it (though I still do)!

I used chemi-pure long ago.

I used it again because "that fish place" made a mistake and sent me someone elses order along with mine :)

It is carbon and some resin in a bag. that company will never give out thier secret recipe's

no water changes is the dumbest thing ever. fwiw, the product does work well.

I wash my carbon too, but use ro water, no sense in depleting the carbon before it gets to the tank.

I agree 100% with Jon. I've also used it until I built a carbon reactor. it gets a little costly in a large aquarium I think it's 1 can/bottle per 40 gallons.
I have a 180 with a 75 gal sump and ugrading to a 450 with a 125 gal sump
can get pricey.

wonder products wheter they work or not arent subsitutes for good husbandry
