A New Home Depot has just open in NYC as of 12/16/04. It's on 3rd ave and 58th street right next to Bloom's. I'm not sure if they carry SD but they did have buckets of Calcium Cholride for the 2 part mix.
It's hidden in that building that I think has a bank upstairs. I didn't even notice it the first time I walked by it. For some reason they didn't advertise it like the one on 23rd street.
thats not awesome, thats horrible. rentys keep going up, mom and pop shops are closing down everywhere and corporate America is taking over. How many Home Depots in NY do we need?
Well in NYC this is the 2nd. I know by me there is only 1 hardware store and he is very expensive as the service sucks. I would actually go into Queens if I need something rather than purchase from him. 2 others closed down over the past 2 or 3 years, 1 because they took over the store to put up a new building the othe because their lease was coming up and the renewal price was more then they where making.
I know these store hurt the small stores but alot of people they live in NYC already go outside of it to get things anyway because of the prices, so this will make it easier for people that live in NYC.
Without a HD or Lowes, us reefers couldn't obtain half the stuff we need for DIYers! How many times have your local hardware stores had eggcrate available for you, stainless steel screws when you need to install that canopy fan, southdown to save a bunch of $ for substrate etc.
