overflow too loud...

i just built my sump and got my over flow box...this stuff is my room
and the overflow is wayyy to loud...makes the crazy water fall sound...any way to numb it?

well which part is making the noise? the overflow bow or when it eneters you sump?

do you have a U-tube type overflow?

well if its the pip that enters your sump, you can always lessen the gap between the end of the pip and the surface of your water so it doesn't "splash" as much

yeh, the u tube sucks it the water into the other conpartment that lets the water flow down to the sump....the overflow going to the sump is sooo noisy!!

try some filter pads or someth to gap the pipe and the water surface

Poly Pad

hmmm.... i kinda just tried that kinda helps....i put a piece of plastic.....

Had the same thing with my overflow since my tank is also in my room.
Put some poly pad over the area where the water will travel into the tube for the sump. It will be even louder for a couple minutes while the poly pad is absorbing the water but than it will 75-90% quiter i promise...

only down side is after poly pad is worn out have to replace it but youll know when it gets louder than normal!
