Question about algea

My tank is about 3 months old now and i am starting to get coralline algea growth on about 60% of my rocks but there are 2 rocks that i am concerned about that have this dark brown almost black algea growing on it almost looks like a blanket on the rocks in a few spots and it really is an eye sore and i would like to know if there is anything i can do about it?

This growth is on the rock in the picture and on one smaller rock on the other side of the tank, everything else is starting to grow coralline

Leave it alone let it takes it's course maybe try to put a turbo snail on top of it

looks like cyano.does it have little bubbles inside.how old is your tank

Some spots have small bubbles and the tank is about 3 months old

oh sorry i didnt see it was 3 months old.suck up all the cyano u see and keep an eye on it.can overtake a tank quick.its anew tank so its fairly common in new tanks.

turbos will not eat it.its a bacteria not a algae.dont know any livestock that will eat it.u need to remove it manually

Remember ur tank is still new it's only 3mths old are u running any carbon and phosban reactor with media ? U usin rodi?

It's cyano for sure....run carbon and gfo siphon out as much as you can .

Make sure your skimmer is working properly.

its a new tank so u may not run into much trouble with it.keep an eye on it to make sure i does not overtake the tank..TRUST ME...if its not gone in a month you will need to take some measures to dispose of it.i just had a nasty outbreak which killed off my sps and some lps.it just over took my tank.i would syphon it out and the next day i was covered again.dont do anything extreme just yet.do your husbantry and get a reactor for carbon and phosban .

try to get it out since your tank is new its gonna come back again a few times

there's probably dead matter/nutrients leaching out from that spot fueling the cyano.
just keep brushing that off n siphon it out. it should run out of fuel as long as your water par is good.

If you can blow it off with a baster, it's cyano. If not, it's another kind of coralline.

I was going to do a water change tomorrow and i was going to try and vacuum some of it off then.
