Nano Tank N00b

Three days ago, I added three hermits to my 12 gallon nano -- two blue-leggeds and one red-legged. In those three days, they almost completely cleared one of my rocks of coralline -- both dark scarlet and a white encrusting variety. Whether they are eating it or just tearing it apart to see what's underneath, I have no idea, nor do I care.

I haven't fed them (or anything else, I have no fish), so I tossed them an algae pellet. Hopefully that will keep them satiated and away from my precious coralline algae. I was warned that they're opportunistic, but I thought my problems would be with them eating soft corals, not algae.

So, just a warning to anyone with really nice rock -- hermits are destructive.
