White vinegar & lots of water. Rinse well, air dry.
If there is anything really stuck on in there the vinegar will soften it up. Don't scrape the glass if it is dry, make sure it is wet!

Nah it's not scraping algae anymore, it's been in storage for about 10 months, the majority of the stuff on the glass is dry so I think it should come off fairly easily I just wanna scrub is with something so I get a sense of it being clean instead of just spaying it down with water. This might be a stupid question, but you a power wash work if I tone it down a little or would that break the glass? LOL

You can use a Scotchbrite pad..as long as it's a glass tank :) Just be sure it is wet when you do it.

Just use lots of white vinegar and a nylon-bristle scrub brush. A final, finishing polish can be given with a microfiber cloth, or sufficient numbers of paper towels and elbow grease.

FYI. Most, if not all sponges are impregnated with some kind of Soap/Antibactirial. So mold does not grow in in packaging. I think this is a bad idea, to use any kind of synthetic sponge.
I would use the green sccrubbies that have no sponge attached.
