PH salifert test kit

Just picked up a few different salifert test kits. I don't seem to be able to read the ph chart. The color I'm getting doesn't match none. The color difference from the 8.0 to the 8.3 on the chart is so drastic. I'm getting a olive like color. Anyone else have same problem. The other kits seem easy. The calcium and alk are giving me same results as my API kits.

Are you looking down through the solution to see the color? (Need to take off the top of the tube)

They claim that if the color is 'between' 2 of the colors - so is your reading. Since the chart progresses from yellow to a yellowish green to green to blue, I'd guess (from your comment about it being 'olive') that your reading is somewhere between 8.0 and 8.3

Frankly I prefer API kits for PH - way easier to read
