Sam...Just to shed some light on your question, from my observation of having clown fish, generally speaking if not paired they will fight but rarely with percula clowns. Fighting tends to occur among the bigger clowns if not paired, like the tomato clown

Not to step on RK's professional toes, BUT, all clowns will fight until they actually mate (one turns into the female) and then they'll "get along".

"Getting along" is a relative term - almost any clown pair I have ever had, the female beat the crap out of the male - (for all you married folk, Aint that the truth).
