I just wanted to share the fact that the other day I procured some solomon island clavularia (the really neon green variety). I have been looking everywhere for this stuff and my best supplier has been trying to get me a bunch for months now with no luck. He tells me they tranship very poorly and are hard to collect. Anyway, I might be getting some more of this very soon, either the all super neon green kind or the green and orange kind or all orange. If I get any I might have a few extra pieces. I'll hold them temporarily to make sure they live and then I'll let you guys know how many are available and of what type. But, since I have them now I will have some available from time to time as it grows out. Finding a really green specimen after over a year of searching was like when Indiana Jones found the Holy Grail, minus all the shooting and hot nazi chicks.

Affordable is a relative term with these they are very hard to get and the average cost per polyp can range from 10-40 dollars depending on how nice it is. It all depends on what it costs me with shipping to get it here. Prices on these are tentative from my guy. The orange and green ones I think are the most expensive. I will definitely be buying some myself so over time I should have some available pretty inexpensively to you guys. But, if you can't wait it's not a cheap coral (atleast for the nice ones).

sort of

That color is a little dull even under my PCs. Mine are pretty neon green on the pinules for the bigger polyps and I guess white or beige in the middle. This morning I noticed a new bud on one of them so I'm assuming they're growing pretty quick or atleast as fast as my Zoas. I'll try to get a pick up tonight under normal light and actinics. I use 2 current dual spectrum 96 watt PCs. The polyps are still fairly young as none of them are as large as I know they can get, but the color is more intense on the bigger ones. I guess for now the best Idea I can give of color is to reverse the green and white in that picture (green pinules/ white stalk). I am working on getting the orange and orange and green strains too, but I'll have to just keep you guys posted as even my supplier is in the dark for now.
