Finding Gallon Size

I had a few PM's were people have asked me what size is their tank/sump in Gallons. So I will just put this info out there for those who do not know it. Multiply the Length x Width x Height. Then divide that number by 231 and that will give you the Gallon size. So a tank that is 36L x 18W x 18H will give you the number 11664 when multiplied, then divide it by 231 and the new number will be 50.49. That tank footprint is of a 50 gallon aquarium. Of course a sump will hold slightly less with baffles, but not much less.
