so most of you know my recent dilema, but thats besides the point.. ive decided not to sell everything.. i want to set up a smaller SPS dominant tank (i just cant walk away) but not sure what to get.. i want to keep it below 90g but heres the thing.. i dont want a tank that is narrow.. i hate the wall of rock look..
i want a deep(front to back) tank... and im gonna use a 40g breeder as a suom/fuge.. i will use the skimmer from my 220g setup so im sure ill never have a problem with that.. but what tank should i go with... throw me ideas and if you have something you wanna get rid of.. i MIGHT be interested...
Also im not sure what type of lighting to use... if i should go MH or t5s... throw me some combo ideas...

ready..... GO!..lol:iamwithst

no cubes... standard type r/r tanks.. i have all the stuff i need to do my sump/fuge i dont care for all the internal stuff the cubes offer.. do they have ones where u dont have to use their stuff? and i def wanna go bigger than 45.. im downgrading from a 220g with a 350g total water volume system.. id feel like i was looking into a 10g with a goldfish..lol

thats not a bad idea noob, i would have to build a stand tho bc i wanna use my 40g custom king sump.. and my existing skimmer.. but ill have to go taller on the stand to fit it..
would it look stupid if i have a cube on a 4ft wide stand? maybe i can put shelves on either side... just thinking outloud.. or typing it rather

I agree w/ Dhaut..shelves not only limit cabinet space but I think they look cheesy as hell. Especially for serious hobbyists like us who can NEVER have enough cabinet space lol. If you are an old man with a tank of tetras and you want to display books on it in your "study" that's fine but not for reef man especially with all the chemicals and food that would be on display..it's just not a good look.

The tank is in fact RR never even been wet there was a box turtle in it lol. Believe me I couldn't believe it either. I also have lighting for it 8 bulb t5 I'm sure is what you want to go with if you are thinking SPS dominant.

I like the 65gallon RR that I bought, It is 36"l x 18"w, not the widest tank but not skinny like a 55 and with it only being 3 feet long the 18"w looks great with it. It is 24"s tall though and some people don't like the depth of it.
