i checked out absolutely fish over in jersey last week. it was really nice, i plan to go back one day. it is about 25 miles from manhattan, but if you have a car, it is worth the drive. fish were a little high priced for some things, but the corals were fairly average priced. i bought some nice blue florida rics (8 of them on the rock) with some encrusting gorgonian on it for $49.99. and another place near me wants wayyyyyyy more for florida rics.

Best place I've seen in the tri-state by far is Reef Splendor. They have a sponsor forum on RC. They're a hike, but so worth the trip. It's a wholesale club (like Sam's club), you pay $50 which get's refunded when you spend $500 and the prices are very reasonable. They have everything, it's something like 50,000 sq ft of tanks and huge holding tubs and tanks and tanks and tanks. It's basically a warehouse (really a barn) FILLED with tanks, wall to wall. I can't even describe it, it's like a trip to a public aquarium. Worth the trip and the money.

Ok save the trip to seatopia aquatics. I believe they have gone out of business. Call ahead to verify. If they are still open, their livestock is really weak...
Absolutely Fish is pretty good, a bit of a drive, I usually head out 1 a month...
I drive up to Beital's in Pearl River. The owner is a complete ass, but they do bring in some quality stuff at times.
Where is Reef Splendor?

Reef Splendor is in Hopewell Junction. It is visible from the Taconic parkway where it intersects 84. If you're going NB on the Taconic it is one of the farms on the left immediately as you approach 84.

My tank is tiny, and I can't fit much in, but I still joined. I stop by all the time just to gawk at stuff. Their coral selection is very large, but I'm not sure about the brandy stuff like ORA or Tyree... They also have tons of fish, though.
