My floors are uneven. What's the best way to level the tank? Put shims under the stand? Put styrofoam under the tank? Both? Neither?

shim the stand first. make sure the stand is level and then put the tank on top and make sure the top of the tank is level. if not, use the styrofoam under the tank.

Does cardboard work as good shims?

dont use cardboard if its get wet it start to fall apart always use something soliod

go to the hardware store and ask for a pack of shims. They're usually around a $1

Then shim your stand till it's level, mark the shims, and cut them off.

or get levelers for the stand.

isn't it going to be hard to shim the stand you have? doesn't it have those little ball type legs? i can't remember lol. if it does and you cannot get it level, i would buy one of those thick rubber mats from home depot, and put it under the tank, that will help support it.
