Peladow Calcium Chloride

I've run out of Turbo Calcium and have started to use Peladow Calcium Chloride in it's place. It seems to be very strong and just a little increase the calcium level alot as opposited to the Turbo Calcium where I had to use alot to increase the levels. Has anyone noticed this when they've used either Peladow/Dowflake or one of the other Calcium Chloride salt mixes.

Yes, it is remarkably stronger. Thats why I used the 250g per gallon as prescribed from that thread in the DIY section.

The first time I went to use it I dosed it as if I was using Turbo Cal and put a good amount in. Well my readings were about 900-1000, I had to do a # of water changes to bring it down.

I'm almost out of B-ionic so I'm going to try and make the 2-part as per the DIY.

Make sure you bake the CaCl and Baking Powder really well so that any resident moisture is dried out.

JIm thanks, I'm going to follow the instruction really well as I've seen a # of people on RC have problems because they didn't follow them.

I'm a little worried but about the Cal part as it seems very strong and when I start to use it I'm going to dose a small amount then normal and they see how my reading are. I was really surprised the first time I used the Peladow instead of the Turbo Cal as it's very strong stuff.

Yeah, good idea, mine worked well, but I didn't bake the CaCl and had a cyano outbreak. I caught it and got it under contral right away.

Good thinking on doing it slow, that's what I did and found I had to add twice as much buffer to maintain than I did calcium.
