I know it's a newbie question though I know most of the answers you plan on giving. I'll answer it and give you the option to give me further advice without flaming if possible!
No, I haven't tested cause I don't currently have test kits. I don't plan on buying them as well.
so onto the question!
so I bought a tank that was previously established from kuyamark about a month ago. I have it all setup and going for the previous 4 weeks but only added key largo marcorocks about 9 days ago. I just added in the chaeto over a week ago and everything else is so far set. Probably could use some more flow rather than two kNanos but it isn't required until i start adding in a bunch of corals.
What I can see:
snails are thriving and see some little snails in the fuge, copepods and bristleworms chilling and see what looks to be larvae of copepods on the glass.
I had a patch of GSP die off while there was no lights and waiting to be setup but has since sprouted again and extending quite well.
Should I assume that it's ready to start adding first livestock?
If I wasn't broke as can be I would be testing with a refractometer and performing all the main test. I usually did it for only the first month and a half before i stopped testing unless an issue aroused. So paying 40 bucks just to know when it's ready or just going for it this time around after good signs. I just want to get advice. otherwise I could always wait another week or two just to be painfully sure.
