I got home today and noticed one of my favorite new frags missing. I used marine epoxy to glue the frag to my rock.

My assumption is that the jawfish stole it for his tunnel. He had used up all the rubble I left for him and must have pulled the plug off of the rock.

I started picking at his tunnel with thongs, but no luck. He has a backdoor tunnel that I can't reach.

In hind sight, I feel bad destroying his tunnel. It's dead front center in my tank and I would cry if he relocated to the back of the tank. Fortunately he rebuilt his original tunnel, front and center.

I put more rubble for him to play with. Any chance the frag will surface in time?? This is becoming a love hate relationship! :hairy:

That is a very funny story. Must have been a very pretty frag! This swap was my first and I only started in Aug. so what I got at the swap are my first corals and I've quickly learned that snails, hermits and gobies move those frags around quite a bit. I now totally understand the need for a frag tank or shelf! One of my neon gobies has taken a liking to a purple mushroom I brought home and he keeps hanging out on it.

Interesting that you bring this up tonight...I just found my frag of either Rastas...or Candy Apple Reds at the entrance to mines home.
Not blaming the Jawfish though - it's my Yellow Tail Coris that likes to knock frags off the rocks..glue & all, he's very strong...:sigh:

So - there is always hope! :)
