I'm 90% sure but I wanted to check with the experts first.
Prior to today, the clown was completely health and showed no signs of any disease. He ate, slept, swam freely, etc. As recently as 7pm tonight he was eating and swimming/"acting" normal.

I came home from the gym around 12 and looked at my tank, I saw that the clown has a white string hanging from his belly. he's now swimming rapidly around the tank back and forth.

Can someone help me diagnose this?
tank parameters
80 degrees
1.025
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
20ppm nitrate
ph 8
calcium 480
dkh 12 (really high i know)

Id like to know what to do and what it is for now so i can go out tomorrow and get treatment for whatever it is he has.

Thanks all

If it looks anything like whats in this thread I put below the info on it will help you. It may be a tapeworm or other worm- LongIsland Andy and a few others recommended prazi pro. Good luck I hope your clown turns out ok.

Thanks Jimmy. My clown's is definitely not that big.. it's like a white piece of thread from the belly/but area.. like right in the middle of the pec fins. I'm about to call absolutely fish to see if they have prazi. Hopefully they do and I can treat the guy asap.

thanks Jim I started treatment today. I ran over to absolutely fish this afternoon and picked up prazi pro. they also had food already made with prazi and garlic...but I figured I'd just get the solution. Thanks again...
btw how much of a water change should I do and how often during the treatment? It really doesn't say anything..just tellsme to turn my skimmer down.

No prob...That I cant help you with Ive never had to use it. PM LongIslandAndy- hes a great guy, been into it for decades and worls at a LFS so hell be able to give you the ins and outs. Im sure on google there will be answers as well.

But Andy will definately get bac to you I would think. Give him a shout or if hes on reefberry him.

Or you can talk to any of the vendors or moderators that are on here as well, theyll be able to steer you in the right direction as well.

Sorry I couldnt be more of a help....Jimmy
