clown/anemone????

i h ave a pair of false percs...they dont seem to be hosting or interested in hosting anything...?? i have a small bubble tip anemone and tons of lps.... i just bought a rose tip anemone 2...about 8 inchs across...they done seem interested at all...any reason why?

Nope

1 day you'll wake up, and they'll be hosting. Whether its the BTAs or some coral, remains to be seen. Then again, they may never host. The only way to be certain, is to buy the clown and host, after they've paired up.

You can try taping a picture of same species clownfish hosting your rose tip. They say that sometimes works.

dun worry about it. no biggie. it might be to soon.. i bought my clown from reef fantasies as a baby had him in the tank for 4 months before i got my pink tip anemone. he didnt touch or go near the anemone for like a month. then one night i came upstairs come in my room and lay down look at the tank and i was like about time.. the clown actually hosting the anemone.. so give it some time. it should host or it might not...

Yep, it's possible he'll never host. Or he might host something other than the anemone. I had two anemones in my tank and my Perc started hosting the Colt Coral instead. I've seen him occasionally check out the anemone; I'd even seen "burn" marks on him when he started making contact. But those have since healed and he's still making the Colt his home. :smokin:

I heard of a little trick too. Do you have a veggie clip shaped like a clown fish? Tie some fishing line to it and lower it into the tank in the area of the anemone. It may act as an inspiration for your clowns.

haha nice one chief...i think my clowns just ditched each other to mack on the plastic clip!! lol...my tank is all weird now...my cleaner shrimp is tryin to host the anemone...and the clown is trying to host the piece of plastic lol
