assistance. HELP!

Well, let's just say I feel like I got dupped thus far with a purchase of a light fixture.

The MH isn't firing and i've tried everything i could think of.

First, there looks to be two wires which may have gotten burnt but doesn't look like it was burnt to the inside none the less burnt.
Second there are two wires looks like one would be a positive and a negative. Unsure what it actually goes to but they are basically loose and cut not going anywhere that i can tell.

Request: I need anyone with a 150Watt double ended halide fixture to test the bulb I have. I went to the LFS and the only ones they have are 70 and 75 bucks. To just test and not sure if it's going to work? thats money that i don't have to play with at the moment.

I will not bash the guy I bought it from. He even brought it to my house and seemed pretty cool. but he said he would drop off the extra bulbs when I said I would meet him and then tells me at the time he was supposed to drop them off he went elsewhere and that it fired up for him.

That's cool and all but I just purchased it and can't use it. I have nothing to gain from a non-working fixture but sure have money to lose when I could have bought a brand new fixture instead of wasting my time.


Hopefully he comes through so I don't have to waste my time further in tracking someone down to help me and drive to their house etc.

was it you who was trying a 150w bulb with a 175w ballast or someting the other day?

If i recall correctly older odyssea lights arent even UL rated and are know for causing fires. if you do a google search for odyssea lights fire, you find pages of stuff about fires.

i have had oddysea lights in the past and read many reviews. plus the main issue was the ballast was internal. this ballast has been upgraded and external.

Well bud i would say have the guy who had the time to deliver it to ur house when u had money in hand so that he can fire it up for you, if he can`t then he should give you the money back!

Yes it will.

Did the seller give you the ballast or did you pick up the ballast.

I would call Hello Lights and double check with them whether the ballast & the bulb you are trying to fire will work together.

I would also contact the manufacturer of the fixture and see if you can get a wiring diagram because without that all anyone can do is guess what should be attached where and that is very dangerous business with a MH fixture

..and you should have had the seller fire up the light for you before you purchased it, just common sense to do so.

yeah. i have always done so in the past but for whatever reason i didn't do it this time and this is the one and only time that i got something i purchased without verifying and may have gotten screwed over.

I have a sunpod that runs a 150w double ended bulb. How far is Bergen County. But I'm not really sure when is the next time I'll be free.

Have the guy come back to your house and help you get it going. You payed good money! He was quick to come and drop it off at your house right??? If he doesn't help you out, then he's a crook and I'd like to know who it is so I don't buy anything from him.

reefjunkie. i will PM you but as of now. I haven't heard back. if there is no word by the end of this week. I'll leave negative feedback. By the time I will hopefully resolve the issue.
