CR 900 sump be used as a tank, no longer has brace divider?

Can a CR900 sump/10 gallons be used as a tank. The divider/brace broke off. I also have used the acrylic to seal a visible crack with weld on 4. Is the tank stable to be used as a tank if there is no brace. Will the tank eventually explode without a brace? Thinking of housing a pistol shrimp and goby with deep sand bed and rubble. I also see that the CPR refugiums have a brace too..
