hey guys i am new to manhattan reefs, and will be visiting manhattan next month, i was just wondering if there is any fish shops in manhattan? help will be gratefull.

Welcome to the site Karl. There are several LFS in Manhattan and there are vendors also. Check out the Marketplace. I know there is a section on this site, somewhere, where you can get reveiws and addresses for the stores.

Hey Karl. Welcome to Manhattan Reefs. The video is of the shop called Manhattan Aquarium which is without question the best shop in the city--- one of the best in the cou try if you ask me. They are located on West 37th st between 10th Avenue and the West Side highway (right near the Javits convention cemter). Well worth your time to visit. They are sponsors here as well and have a forum in the marketplace. How long are you in town for?

cheers guys i am in manhattan for 5 days so i will defo be visiting there lol. Over here we dont have many good fish shops so the first thing that popped in my head when the wife arranged the trip was i wonder if there is a lfs lol.

Karl welcome to the site. Randy has already suggested my recommendation, Manhattan Aquariums is an excellent place to visit. Bring your own cup of joe, they have a great sofa from MACNA Orlando if I'm correct, that you can sit on and enjoy the place or just talk reef. Enjoy your visit and the great info the site has to offer.

cheers alex that sounds a plan i cant wait to go there i am a huge fan of the fish scene. And my wife is also from new york so whilst she is out shopping with her mother and sister i will be poppin down for a few hours lol

What dates are you here specifically? It is a haul, but on Sat. 3/19 there is a fantastic 1 day reef conference out at Atlantis Marine World on Long Island. Atlantis itself is fantastic--20,000g. reef that is arguably one of the best in the world. Speakers at the event include 2 of your countrymen Paul Whitby and Simon Garrett. You are also welcome to come visit my reefs here on the Pratt Institute campus in Brooklyn.

we will be landing on the 19th but i am not sure what time but i will let you know lol. thanks i am sure we will be staying long then we planned we always do lol. that would be great to come and visit.
