Would a mp 10 be enough for a 54g corner tank? Or do I need to get a mp 40. Its to bad they discontinued the mp 20.

The MP10 might not give you enough power/ circulation. Why not just get the MP40 and dial the power down ?

I have a mp10 on my 54 corner. With that and my return pump I have it dialed back to 3/4 otherwise the sand blows around. It's 4" down and 6" from front glass.
A mp40 would be nice, but for that price 2 wireless mp10's would be better.

Start with one MP10 if on a budget, and see how it goes. Look around for a little too, sometimes theres used ones if you catch the fs thread early enough haha. The only issue may be flow on the opposite side. The wave effect is cool, but I could never get it to work right on my 75, I think my return screw it up. If I turn the returns and mp20 off it will get the wave going. Pretty good sign for a small pump like that.

Now what's the deal with the master and slave thing I keep reading about. I want the wireless ones. Also do I need a controller for both. I still need some info.

I thought a budget was in effect but, if no budget then get two MP10W ES.
The MP10W ES are the wireless models.

the best to get on out tanks is the wireless ones cause to really see the wave movement it gottta be sync'ed due to the large area & indirect shape of our tank

now when you say wireless.... what is it wireless to. no pwer cord to the pump? or no line to the controller?

1 mp10 does make a 1.5" wave at the top of the tank and all Corals sway back and forth. Get the wireless so if u do add another they work together at opposite sides of the tank. Wireless means it has a wireless signal to communicate with the other mp10.

great thanks but they both need the controller correct? It comes with the pump them selves automatically

this thread is deff helping me also i have a 57 rimless looking to get a vortech also. but was not sure if to get 2 mp 10 w or a mp40.
