Unfortunately, your question is about aesthetics, so there is no right answer. Some people will not tolerate the least amount of algae in their display tank, while others allow it to flourish, stating it adds to the natural look of their tank.

Ink, in general, excess algae is a sign of increased wastes in your tank. Too high of a waste level can lead to the death of your corals and or stress to many of your inhabitants There are a few different algaes that thrive in low nutrient conditions such as turf algaes, this is why I asked for a pic.
Seeing a few thriving reefs in person should help you to decide what amount of algae is the norm.

hahahahaha.... that reminds me of my trip to sicily... when i was on the beach there was a beautiful toppless vacationer shes lying in the sun on the beach... of course im looking :shhh: then she goes to put her hands behind her head and then bam she had more hair then i had underneath her armpits... way off topic but i figured i let u guys no....
