Put a window exhaust fan if you have to and if that doesn't work then move the tank. It could be the cycling fumes that's getting to you. Happened to me but I have an enormous volume of water I'm dealing with plus I have 2 exhaust fans. One in the sump room and one in the display. It should dissipate after the first month or so.

It's the cycling fumes, I'm sensitive to it also and happens to me every time even though I use only cured lived rock and live sand with ro/Di water. If you used not live it could take longer for the fumes to dissipate. It's cold out so pump the heat and crack the window.

the rock is cured .. from a tank thats 5 years old .. my room is always warm .. Can it be from evaporated water and breathing it in at night when i sleep?

If your room is humid to begin with you can get mold growth.

Best to check for that before determining if the tank is the cause becuase you can end up getting severely ill from black mold.

When I feel a sore throat coming i turn on my humidifier on to prevent it from drying out at night time so I doubt that would be a reason why you are getting sick from water evaporation.

Do you have forced air heat which is dry or radiators? That also makes a difference. I still think it's the new cycle though. I have the same issues on every new tank I ever set up and I got dizzy as well.

Sorry, missed the part that you had this tank for a few weeks. I don't know how fast mold can grow but warm and humid is prime conditions.

Check more than the area around the tank like the entire room just to be safe. If anything you should be running a de-humidifier if you feel the room is very humid.
