I'm planning on buying a deep blue 57 galling rimless, now i wanted a solid wood stand and not compressed wood, does any1 have a series 1 stand from deep blue? I was wondering if it's compressed wood, and if it was sturdy

It's compressed wood with a plastic type covering on it, something in the compressed wood is made with some type of water proof glue or something that keeps the wood from swelling mine is pretty new and I actually spilled a few gallons by accident and nothing swelled at all......And it supposedly has a lifetime guarantee if not customized the people in country critters out in long island made a big deal about it

Any update on this. Im looking into a series 2 stand?

I honestly would not go with the DB stands. I would not trust it. A lifetime warranty is not worth it IMO. If the stand fails then you probably have a flooded room and the cost of repair is worth much more than the cost of the tank stand.

I really like my marineland stand. Solid wood....

He made his own stand and look really nice, I seen it in person yesterday.. I'm not 100% sure which is the series1 stand from deep blue but I seen a stand that's made of that cheap compress wood.. And if it gets wet... It's a wrap for it... It will fall apart

So 35, how much you spent more or less on the marineland stand? Solid wood. Im not good with building stuff with wood. Never tried it. If its around $200 ill go with pre built marineland.

I went crazy looking for a stand I liked and couldn't find one, I never did the 57 gallon, I ended up doing a 75 gallon, but online I couldn't find anything below $400 plus shipping, I guess the biggest advantage is u can make it as tall as u'd like and give urself more real-estate inside the stand, I made mine 36" tall instead of 30" which is average, 6" goes a long way (I hope no one says " that's what she said") lol

Lol. Do you have experince working with wood? Or is it something anyone with a homedepot and a powered drill can do? Cause thats all i got. LoL

Well I do construction and not to toot my own horn but I'm really handy, but it's not anything outta this world, u can make it a fun day, get a couple friends, some drinks and have fun, u can get all ur wood cut to make sure they're cut right if u don't wanna do it urself, and make sure ur supports will hold ur tank and try and make it as level as possible
